Hervé Sarkan

Professor
In addition to his academic role at the University of
UMEF, Prof. Hervé Sarkan serves as a strategic
consultant to several multinational companies,
bringing over 40 years of experience across
industry, consulting, and higher education.
He has held technical, marketing, and management
positions in the oil and gas sector across Europe
and Africa. In 2000, after earning his Ph.D. in
Economics, he transitioned into higher education and joined the University of UMEF.Since 2012, he has led his own consulting firm,
Campus Globe, operating in Europe, Asia, and Africa.With a strong entrepreneurial background, Prof.
Sarkan’s teaching emphasizes practical insights
and real-world case studies.
Marc Samuel
Consultant & Professor
Prof. Marc Samuel serves as a faculty member at
the University of UMEF and as a consultant for
several advisory firms, specializing in business
transformation, digitalization, and management.
He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration
(DBA) from Grenoble École de Management, as
well as an MBA and an engineering degree. With
21 years of industry experience in both
multinational corporations and the public sector,
he has also spent 7 years teaching in Europe and
the Middle East.
His research interests focus on perceived service
quality, strategic management, cross-cultural
management, and the impact of digitalization on
global economic rebalancing.
Bruce Hearn
Professor & Investment
Specialist
Prof. Bruce Hearn is a seasoned investment expert
with over 12 years of global experience in the
financial industry, having worked at leading
institutions such as BNP Paribas, Gulf International
Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, HSBC, and Marsh &
McLennan. He later transitioned into academia,
where he has built an impressive 14-year track
record.
He previously served in senior academic roles,
including Director of the PhD Program at
Southampton Business School and Director of the
DBA Program at Bradford School of Management.
Supported by the UK Economic and Social Research
Council (ESRC), his research focuses on corporate
governance in emerging economies, and he has
published over 60 academic papers.
Prof. Hearn is highly regarded for his ability to teach
and supervise in accounting, finance, and
